To help us solve a problem quickly, please include your iPad model, iPadOS version (Settings › General › About), your Apple Pencil model, the WriteSimply version (gear icon › About WriteSimply in the app), and a short description or screenshot of what happened.

|---|---|
| One-finger double-tap | Switch between your current tool and the eraser |
| Two-finger tap | Undo |
| Three-finger tap | Redo |
| Pinch | Zoom in and out. Tap Fit to fit the current page or panel to the screen. |

|---|---|
| Other iPads | Download it again from the App Store on any iPad signed in to the same Apple Account, at no extra cost |
| Refunds | Handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com |
Open the App Store on the other iPad, signed in to the same Apple Account, and download WriteSimply. You won’t be charged again. Documents aren’t copied between iPads; export a document and import it on the other iPad.
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
That is intentional. Only Apple Pencil writes in WriteSimply, so your hand can rest on the screen without leaving marks. Fingers scroll, zoom and use gestures.
Check that you have a writing tool selected rather than Read mode or the eraser. Make sure your Pencil is charged and paired (Settings › Apple Pencil, or Settings › Bluetooth). If it still doesn’t write, restart your iPad and try again.
Double-tap is available on Apple Pencil (2nd generation) and Apple Pencil Pro. Check Settings › Apple Pencil and make sure double-tap isn’t set to “Off”. You can always use a one-finger double-tap on the screen or the eraser button instead.
Password-protected PDFs aren’t supported. Remove the password in the app that created the file, then import it again. If an unprotected PDF won’t open, please email it to us (if it contains nothing private) so we can investigate.
Open Fold view from the toolbar and choose the layout and reading order yourself. You can apply it to all pages or only the current page. Choose Off to return to normal full-page reading.
In the print options, set scaling to 100% (Actual size) and turn off “fit to page” if your printer offers it. The engineer’s sheet has a 100 mm scale bar you can measure to confirm.
Night paper only changes the screen. Choose Day paper in WriteSimply’s settings, or choose “Follow iPad setting” so it changes with your iPad’s light or dark appearance. Exports and prints are always on white paper.
It may be inside a folder. New and imported documents go into the folder that was open at the time. Open your folders from the library, or press and hold the document and choose Move to… to put it somewhere else.
WriteSimply is designed for portrait, full screen. On newer versions of iPadOS, if the app is used in a resizable window it may not stay locked in portrait. Make the window full screen and it will return to portrait.
Tap undo (or tap with two fingers) straight away to restore it. Deleting a whole document from the library is permanent. When you delete a folder, you are asked whether to keep its contents or delete them too.
WriteSimply’s documents are included in your iPad’s iCloud or computer backup, so restoring a backup to the new iPad brings them across. To move individual documents, export them as PDFs and save them to Files or iCloud Drive.
